U.G. Admission (B.A. / B.Sc.)
Admission to the Degree Course in this college is made on the basis of admission policy framed by the Admission Sub-Committee every year with consideration of the Higher Secondary results. Admission is made purely on merit basis subject to some reservations as prescribed by the Government of West Bengal. After the publication of Higher Secondary results eligible candidates may apply for admission into U.G. Courses through online in the college website (www.sitanandacollege.org) within the stipulated date. Then the Merit Lists are duly prepared and displayed the same in the college website as well as the hard copy of the same is published on the Notice Board of the college office. Selected candidates are instructed to get admission into their desired courses producing the required documents/certificates in original for proper verification of the same and paying the requisite Course Fees within the specific date. Failing which their candidatures be cancelled.
All admissions are provisional. Admission will be cancelled for any mistake or suppression of facts. In this regard the decision of the college authority will be final. Government rules are followed in case of SC/ST/Handicapped/Ex-military Servicemen. There is no reservation for sportsmen, but sufficiently qualified sportsmen may get preference for admission. 5% of the total seats will be reserved for other Boards/Councils.

P.G. Admission (M.A. in Bengali & Sanskrit)
P.G. courses in Bengali and Sanskrit began from the new session 2017-18 in Sitananda College under Vidyasagar University. The details are given below:
1) Direct Admission: Candidates who passed the B.A. (Hons.) Examination not earlier than 2016 from any Colleges affiliated to Vidyasagar University with 55% Marks in Hons. Subjects are eligible for Direct Admission during the period 01.06.2017 to 10.06.2017.
2) Admission through Merit List: Candidates who passed the B.A. (Hons.) Examination not earlier than 2016 from any Colleges affiliated to Vidyasagar University with following eligibility may Apply for admission on & from 01.06.2017 to 15.06.2017
3) Admission through Open Competition: Candidates who passed the B.A. (Hons.) Examination not earlier than 2016 from any Colleges affiliated to any University (V.U. also) with following eligibility may Apply for admission on & from 01.06.2017 to 15.06.2017

4) Application form for admission in PG Course will be available from the College website (www.sitanandacollege.info). The fees @ Rs.120/ for application will be paid at the time of submission of filled-up forms along with supporting self attested documents.
5) Relaxation to SC / ST /OBC-A /OBC-B/PWD candidates as per Government rules provided, candidates must produce authentic documents for Caste proof.
6) ORIGINAL PAPERS AND PHOTOGRAPH MUST BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

Transfer Rule
As per Vidyasagar University rules willing students may get transfer from this college on the basis of application on plain paper. Transfer Certificate is generally issued to any student on consideration of his/her prayer. A candidate who has been previously admitted into another college, he/she must have to produce Transfer Certificate/Admission Cancel Certificate/No Objection Certificate in original at the time of admission into this college. Admission in the mid-session on transfer basis is generally discouraged.
Change of Subjects
As per regulations of Vidyasagar University students may be allowed to change the subject under special circumstances within one month from the date of commencement of first year classes.
Identity Card
The College issues identity card to students after admission, duly signed by the Principal/ Teacher-in-Charge. It contains information about student concerned and it is proof of his / her status as a student of Sitananda College. They are required to keep the card with them during the college hour. The possession of this identity card will entitle him / her to get rightful privilege as a student of Sitananda College. He / she can use it to get all the permissible advantages the college offer to the students. It is to be renewed at the end of each academic year and deposited to the college during the submission of fees for Degree Examination.
Registration Rule
Students are to be registered themselves as per provisions of Vidyasagar University rules within the stipulated date after taking admission into the college. The students have to produce the required documents/testimonials in original at the time of registration. Time Schedule for registration is generally published by the college authority on the Notice Board of the college office in due time for general information to all the students concern. Rules as laid down by Vidyasagar University for registration are strictly followed.
Student's Attendance Rule
According to the rules laid down by Vidyasagar University, regular attendance of the students in classes should strictly be maintained. A student must attend 75% of the classes held in the college; otherwise he / she will not be allowed to sit in the final examination as a regular candidate. Rules of attendance are strictly maintained. So, students are advised to remain careful from the very beginning of the session in regard to their attendance.
